The Intrepid Museum will host its annual Kids Week festival this year from Saturday, February 15th through Saturday, February 22nd. During Kids Week, children of all ages and interests can learn about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) through fun-filled activities, live animal shows, hands-on workshops, performances, special guests, and interactive demonstrations designed to educate and inspire. About Kids Week
Kids Week at Intrepid Museum is an eight-day celebration and family-friendly week of fun education programming, where children of all ages can explore the world of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) through a range of thrilling activities, engaging NASA displays and exhibits, captivating live animal shows, hands-on workshops, performances by special guests, and interactive demonstrations designed to educate and ignite curiosity. Take a look at the line-up of events and activities by date below:
- Saturday, February 15: Kids can explore space through interactive demos with NASA experts, create 3D-printed souvenirs, and attend talks with NASA engineers, with Spanish interpreters available.
- Sunday, February 16 (ASL Day): Design space capsules, meet Star Wars characters, and hear from NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps about life on the ISS, with ASL interpretation and audio descriptions provided.
- Monday, February 17: Learn about spacesuits, buoyancy, and ballooning through hands-on activities and workshops, with Spanish interpreters available for all sessions.
- Tuesday, February 18: Enjoy circus activities, LEGO building, Latin dance, and story time with children’s book authors, featuring performances from Ballet Hispánico and Pinkalicious The Musical.
- Wednesday, February 19 (ASL Day): Create constellations, explore opera production, make candy jewelry, and attend a superhero comic workshop, with ASL interpretation and audio descriptions provided.
- Thursday, February 20: Meet exotic animals, learn about oyster repopulation, and hear from Amelia Rose Earhart about her global flight, alongside STEM activities and exhibits.
- Friday, February 21: Experience live animal shows, shark research exhibits, seismic engineering simulations, and robotics workshops, with hands-on science activities throughout the day.
- Saturday, February 22 (ASL Day): Meet the NYC Ghostbusters, make slime, explore LEGO robotics, and enjoy science demos, with ASL interpretation and audio descriptions available.

Directions by NYC Metro Bus:
Take cross-town buses west. M34 (34th St.), M42 (42nd St.) or M50 (49th St.) to 12th Ave. and Hudson River. Intrepid is a short walk north from the M34 and M42. The M50 drops off directly in front of the Intrepid Museum.
Directions by NYC Metro Subway:
Take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, 1, 2, 3 or 7 train to 42nd St., then walk or take the M42 West bus to Hudson River (12th Ave). Walk north to Intrepid.
Directions from Water:
Take New York Water Taxi to Pier 84 and walk one block north to the Intrepid Museum.
From New Jersey, take the New York Waterway to Midtown (38th St.) and walk north on 12th Avenue to the Museum.
