VR is the hottest new gaming experience, and now you can visit a state of the art gaming studio right in the heart of New York City where you can enjoy VR experiences as well as the best games on a variety of systems and PCs. On April 9th, join the grand re-opening of The Paley Center for Media’s family-friendly PaleyGX Gaming Studio! PaleyGX, a state-of-the-art gaming studio in midtown Manhattan, offers families, casual players, and avid gamers the chance to play the hottest games on the latest gaming systems and PCs, PLUS experience a virtual reality lab—all in one place! PaleyGX will also feature a robust schedule of special events, including:
NBA 2K League – Transform into an eLeague All-Star - Players from the NBA 2K League will be coming through the Paley Center’s Bennack Theater to give fans of NBA 2K and the NBA 2K League an up-close and personal look at what it’s like to be a true professional baller. Team members from Knicks gaming and NetsGC will be onsite to challenge fans to NBA 2K games, provide tips and tricks, explain how to become a bona fide NBA 2K League superstar! Learn what it’s like to be a professional 2K player! There will also be prizes and giveaways for some lucky fans!
Minecraft Build Challenges – Fun with Creating Virtual Worlds - All weekend, Minecraft Build Challenges will be held in the PaleyGX Studio. Choose from different consoles or high-performance PCs to do timed-design challenges. Each round will be scored based on creativity, and a Minecraft Challenge Winner will be crowned!
Games for Change – Learn, Play, Create! Kids and families of all ages will discover how games are designed and what makes a great game. They can explore how the games we know and love are developed. Kids can even have the opportunity to create their own game! Gamers of all levels and ages can take their first steps to becoming a game designer.
Doors open to the public at 12pm for a FREE Open House on Saturday, April 9th at The Paley Center’s midtown Manhattan location until 6 p.m. Starting Sunday, April 10th, the Paley GX Gaming Studio is accessible by purchasing tickets or becoming a member.
