Disclosure: Netflix provided me with a sneak preview of Mighty Express in order to bring you this honest review. Some of the information in this post comes from the Mighty Express press release.
Spin Master Corp. (TSX: TOY; www.spinmaster.com), a leading global children's entertainment company, announced today the CG animated preschool series Mighty Express will roll onto Netflix on September 22, 2020. From the company behind the global blockbuster PAW Patrol®, the new original series builds on Spin Master’s legacy of creating powerhouse franchises marking the company’s 11th series overall.
“Spin Master Entertainment excels at developing evergreen global properties through compelling story telling and engaging characters that resonate with audiences,” said Spin Master Entertainment’s Executive Vice President Jennifer Dodge. “From the importance of friendship and teamwork, to boosting kids’ confidence in their own attributes and abilities, Mighty Express is a fun place for children to laugh and learn alongside the characters in the show. We are so excited for families to discover our first Netflix original series and we look forward to developing more content for the platform in the future.”
The Mighty Express series, which is wholly-owned by Spin Master and is being animated by the Vancouver-based toon house Atomic Cartoons, is created and executive produced by Keith Chapman, the creator behind global mega-franchises including PAW Patrol and Bob The Builder®. The series is also executive produced by Dodge and Spin Master’s co-founder and co-CEO Ronnen Harary.
Mighty Express Synopsis
Hop on the fast track to Tracksville, where, in a vast, playful, quirky world crisscrossed by railway tracks, a team of trains and their kid best-buddies keep things moving and get the delivery done no matter what the trouble – one adventure after another! Each of the trains has a specialty which they use when going on Mega Missions or hauling cargo, be it animals, equipment, or giant dinosaur bones. They always rise to the occasion when trouble strikes!

The Jersey Momma's Thoughts About Mighty Express
Mighty Express has all the elements of an awesome show. Vivid, quality animation, upbeat background tunes (kids will love the clean up/tune up track, for sure), fun story lines and cute characters (not just the trains- wait til you see the "pop star piggies" in episode 1). I loved the variety of characters in Mighty Express, too, especially Jubilee, an adorable little girl in a wheelchair. The concept of the trains getting "mega missions" for each episode adds an element of surprise and helps teach kids about responsibility, too ("We trains always deliver on time!"). The animation is bright and colorful, the trains (and even the kids) look like living toys! The track that the trains run on is almost like a roller coaster, which makes it even more fun to watch them move. I know kids will enjoy it!! Each episode runs about 11 minutes.
