Disclosure: I was asked to visit Ort Farms in exchange for fun passes and farm admission, but what do I always say? I wouldn't recommend this place to you unless I totally loved it myself!
Ort Farms has been a family owned and operated business in Long Valley, New Jersey since the 1800's. Over 100 years and six generations later they are still here, serving and providing for the community even during the hardest of times. I hope you will take some time out to visit and support them!

10 Fun Fall Activities at Ort Farms
There is SO much to do at Ort Farms! You can literally spend an entire day here doing all kinds of Fall activities, so if you're coming from a distance, rest assured that you can really make the most of your trip. Here are ten fun activities to try if you're looking for a fun-filled Fall day:
1. Shop at the Farm Market
Ort Farms carries a wide variety of fresh products in their market during every season. In the Fall you'll find local apples, fresh apple cider, baked goods, seasonal pumpkin products, and much more. They have pumpkins, decorative gourds, fall squash, corn stalks, hay, scarecrows and a great selection of decorations. And don't forget the cider donuts and cider slushies (see #10 for more details)!
2. Visit with Farm Animals
I still love seeing farm animals, even as an adult. Ort Farms had penned-in areas with adorable goats, cows, chickens, and more. There are little signs telling you a bit about each animal and their history on the farm, too.
3. Climb, Play and Pose
Families will love the open space at Ort Farms, as well as the areas where kids can climb and play. From the pretend pirate ship to the Ort Farms bus, it will definitely keep the kids busy! There was also hay to climb on and some fun photo opps for special memories and Instagram moments.
4. Take a Pony Ride or Cow Train Ride
For a little added "animal fun," pony rides are available, or even a ride on a "cow train." The cow train is made up of individual "cow cars" pulled by a tractor. Each cow car has a name, too. So cute!
5. Try the Apple Cannon
Tune in to the Ort Farms Facebook page and you may get a glimpse of the apple cannon in action! Shoot at the targets in the field or just let your apples fly!
6. Take a Hay Ride
Some say it wouldn't be fall without a hay ride, and Ort Farms has a hay ride that can take you to their pumpkin patch. Hop aboard and enjoy the scenic farm views, too! Hayrides to the pumpkin patch are offered every day.
7. Pick Your Own Pumpkin
You can purchase pumpkins in the Ort Farms market or head out to the pumpkin patch to pick your own. Large or small, there's a size in the field for everyone! In the patch, you can see how pumpkins grow on the vine, which is always pretty cool to see.

8. Get "Lost" in the Corn Maze
This was actually our favorite activity on the farm. The Ort Farms corn maze changes every year. Can you find your way through? Half the fun is trying! Corn maze is open daily.
9. Take a Ride in a Monster Truck
If you're looking for the most unique Fall experience of all, check out the monster truck rides at Ort Farms! You can ride BIG TEX the Monster Truck on select days. Note that monster truck ride tickets are not available online for pre-purchase, they are only sold on-site.

10. Taste an Apple Cider Donut or Slushie (or Both!)
You can't leave without buying cider donuts and cider slushies. I was just going to type that sentence and nothing else, because do I really need to elaborate? The donuts are delicious and they're an integral part of any Fall activity. The apple cider slushies were a new experience for me and I loved them. Here's a hint: I purchased one slushie for me, thinking my mom and son could share, but they wound up permanently sticking their straws in my cup and devouring most of it, so buy more than one if you can!
