Each year I search for fun games to play during our Dr. Seuss Read Across America party. You might have read about my Yertle the Turtle Stacking Game, remember? This year I threw together a character ring toss. Draw or print out your images and then stick them on colored cones (I used clear packing tape). A few rings and you're good to go!
This game has been a hit with pretty much any age group. Even better, we have used those colored cones for so many more activities (from birthday parties to sports), they're definitely worth the investment!
Draw or print out your images and then stick them on colored cones (I used clear packing tape). Buy a few rings and you're good to go! The kids took turns in class trying to toss the ring onto their favorite characters. When it got too easy, we spread the cones apart a little further for a challenge.
You can find most of the supplies I used through the Amazon affiliate links below. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
-Colored Safety Cones
-Rings for ring toss (these were the exact rings I purchased, a 5" size)
-clear packing tape
You can find the character images on the internet, but I warn you that it's not legal to copy a picture and resell it or print it out for commercial use. The good thing about this project and those images is that you can just pull them off when you're finished, and throw them away. I'm not condoning that you break copyright laws, after all.
